The concept of the DarkSwords Universe offers a lot of opportunities for players to create societies and alliances: so called Clans, that unites players with similar interests and goals in game and some times even in real life.

Players that became members of the clan can participate in clan activities such as sieges (more info - PVP : Clan-wars) and receive bonuses if a clan is on leading positions. Capture and control over a territory brings wealth and trophies to the clan that owns them (more info - PVP : Sieges).

The character can join a clan only 1 time per 7 days and change of the rank of the clan member can't be changed more then 1 time per 24 hours. The price for accepting a clan member is 25,000 gold pieces and 10,000 gold for a member that left or was kicked out of clan.

Clans can get their unique clan-symbols, the extra storage space for clan members in specially arranged locations such as Bars (that can be accessed only by clan members who will press the «Enter» button in the Bar) and Clan Bank (operated through a series of console commands).

Regarding clan creation questions players should contact Dealers or Traders in game. In order to create a clan you need to provide a clan-tag image 20x20 pixels in size in bmp format, the name of the clan, server (EU) and character name of the future clan leader. The cost of clan's foundation is 1,000 platinum (that should be located in the bank of the future clan leader).



Clan experience and levels

When clan members defeat their opponents during a clan war the clan receives clan Experience along with Clan Prestige. Upon defeat of its members the clan loses clan experience and prestige. Clan experience cannot be in negatives. Clan Prestige is used to determine the place in Alliance Top for the alliance the clan is a member of. Clans which have less than 500 clan prestige cannot be challenged to a clan war and cannot start clan wars themselves. Clan Prestige periodically resets to 500 (once a day).

Some ways to gain Clan Experience
  • Defeating opponents during a clan war;
  • Controlled locations bring amount of clan experience equal to maximum monster level on the territory every day;
  • Every week the clan will receive the sum of mentor experience collected by its members as clan experience;
  • Performing actions that result in profession experience gain bring clan experience if the clan member has level 25 in this profession;
  • Paying clan shop and exchange post rent and the fees pertaining to Extended Clan Storage;
  • Paying private shop and exchange post rent if the facility in question belongs to a member of the clan.

As clan gains experience its Clan Level raises. When clan gains a level the counter for this week's sieges gets reset.

Also clan level determines the limits for monster levels on controlled lands, maximum number of members and recruits, advisors, clan storage dimensions and maximum weight, grants additional time to extended clan storage etc. Also certain clan level can be required in order to use clan-only items and other bonuses.

Clans that have same goals may want to join forces and form much bigger conglomerates - alliances. The head from one of the clans will form an alliance and the leaders of invited clans will be able to join it. Compared to a single clan - alliance has its advantages:

  • The members of the alliance in addition to clan chat can use ally chat as well. Its not only gives you the ability to communicate with all ally members, but also to coordinate the large scale events, such as wars.
  • Members of the alliance do not gain experience in religion by killing one another even if they belong to different religious groups. Traps and scanners are not triggered by members of one alliance.
  • Alliances that are taking top positions in ally ranking (alliance experience points) will bring provide its members with additional Health and Mana: 1st place +15%, 2nd place +10% and 3rd place +5%.
  • The alliance experience is calculated from experience of clans that are in it: Ally exp. = (the sum of all clan exp of the ally) - (the number of clans in this ally x 500)
  • Also a system was put in place, that binds clans together during clan wars and sieges. For instance if a clan A will announce a war on clan B from the C alliance and this clan accepts the challenge, all C ally members will automatically become at war with A clan.
This way the whole alliance will be defending the combat honor of its single member.
Alliance members can't be at war with one another and siege on each other lands.
